So the WiiU and Pokemon could potentially destroy wallets?

So do any of you remember the Spyro game, skylanders? To those that dont, it is an interactive game where you have a small toy with a chip in it that the console recognises and imports information from that chip into that game, changing that game entirely.

While most of you probably didnt actually play it, i bet youd consider it if it were pokemon right?

Thats right, the WiiU has the potential for this and it looks as if things could go that way also!

Imagine the scenario where you’re about to choose your first pokemon. From buying the game, you have the choice of 3 pokemon models. Lets go with bulbasaur, squirtle, and charmander for arguments sake. You place one of the models under or near the WiiU console/controller and it recognises the model you put down. Suddenly in the game you’re a proud owner of your own pokemon!

Whilst this idea sounds amazing to me with the things they could develop from this, it must be said that it sounds like it could be a bit of a wallet killer. Hense the title of this post. For example, you want to catch a new pokemon in game. Must you now go out and purchase that model for it to be used in game? I guess it brings back home the meaning of “gotta catch ‘em all” huh?

Either way, bye future wallet. Was nice knowing you!
